Master Class #1: The art of editing photographs, creating clear narration, telling your individual, visual story.

This 3-day workshop is open to both advanced enthusiasts and professionals alike. It’s idea is to explain all the necessarily tools you need to use, to be able to express your personal and original way of seeing photographically. Another words you will learn how to edit pictures, pick up the best once to create a strong and dramatic narrative that will be able to communicate with the audience and deliver your massage.
learn how to narrow large number of frames to create the set of best photographs.
learn how to pick the best pictures and how to distinguish between them and the once that are necessarily to tell the story.
learn how to build a sequence of photographs based on their intellectual content, color, rhythm or on geometric shapes.
learn how to juxtapose your images to make them “talk” and create additional, extra meaning.
learn the differences in editing for a magazine, a book, a portfolio or a photo exhibition.
Instructor: Tomasz Tomaszewski, professional photographer, with over thirty years of experience with leading international and Polish press titles, including over twenty years with National Geographic Magazine.
Who should attend: advanced enthusiasts and professional photographers. The workshop is limited to 10 participants. Workshop will be all in English. On special request one may get a private translator from English to another, different language.
When: The workshop starts 4PM, Friday, August 25th, ends 6PM, Sunday, August 27th. If you wish, you can arrive one day before, on Thursday, August 24th.

What you should bring: you are required to bring up to two personal projects containing not more than 40 images each, ready for digital projection. Format Jpg, 3000pix long edge, and resolution 72ppi. If you can, please do bring also small prints made out of your pictures. Maximum 18cm of long edge. It is not an obligation, but could be a great help in editing your story the best way. You may also like to sent your photographs using WeTransfer to the email address: firstname.lastname@example.org before the workshops starts, so Tomasz will be able to look at them and speed up the process of editing.
4 pm - An introduction to the art of editing. Tomasz will explain the basic rules of editing using his own projects in a digital form as well as in prints.
9 pm - Welcome diner, open talks.
8 am – Breakfast
9 am - Students present their projects to be edited together.
1 pm - Lunch.
2 pm - Editing, learning more about how to correctly sequence your photos.
8 pm - Dinner on your own.
9 pm - More talks about editing.
11 pm – End of the day.

9 am - We continue editing your pictures, and learning all the rules using different samples provided by Tomasz.
1 am – Lunch
2 pm - Final conclusions on editing,
6 pm - End of the workshop, transfer to the airport.
Tuition fee is 950,00 Euro and includes two nights at the hotel, free transfer by the private car from the airport to the hotel, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, welcome diner, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Does not include expenses and flights to the location in Warsaw, Poland.
